Well known artists from different parts of the world offered their work to Gergeri, the small town in the Municipality of Rouvas [Map], Crete, making out of this archetypal ecological site a stable, international meeting point for the future
The statement of the exhibition titled Gargling Sky- from the gargling waters of Gergeri- is the necessity to recover our roots in the earth in order to recover our roots in the sky.
On the 26th of August a symposium will be held in the congress hall of Gergeri on the theme of the human being/astronomy and on the 27th the opening of the exhibition will take place, accompanied by the music of the local shepherds made with their hand made instruments.
To this end the watermills of Gergeri are being turned into pinacotheques
The exhibition Gargling Sky will move, in the autumn, to the prefecture of Heraklion and then it will go back to Gergeri to remain in the permanent collection of the municipality of this small town, which through the initiative of the artists of the world, is becoming, a cultural cradle for a new beginning
The whole event will also be presented in the symposium Urania s Gardens which will take place in the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Athens in October 2009
